How to Activate Hibernate Mode on Windows 7, Vista and XP


What is Hibernate Mode ?
Hibernate mode is a Power option like Sleep, Shutdown and Standby Modes, Which makes your PC in rest mode and pauses all the ongoing Processes , But When you Start your PC again all Processes will resume to the active mode just like they were at the time when they were held offline.
If you are using Mozilla with lots of pages loaded and You have a paint window with half completed Picture. And if you hibernate your PC at that instance , You can get them as same as they were before when you start your PC again even if you don’t pause them before hibernating.
How to Avail Hibernate Option on Windows ?
  1. Open start menu manually or by pressing Windows key.
  2. Enter CMD in the search box stating “start search” below the List of Apps in the Start menu.
  3. Right click on the black color  cmd app icon and select “Run as administrator” option.
  4. In the command window type as powercfg /hibernate on and press Enter.
  5. Now type “exit” and press Enter again to exit from command window.
  6. Go to Start and click on the arrow icon beside to the shutdown option to see Hibernate option.
  7. You can use this when ever you are in hurry. Hibernation is a fast process than shutdown.
  8. You can also avail Hibernate option by Pressing ALT+A4 in the Desktop.
